Open Door Preschool values inquistive learning, questions, and exploration in our students. We are very exicted to be using the Creative Curriculum which is cutting-edge and research-based. The Creative Curriculum is unit-structured and question-led. For example, students might ask the question, "Can we make a ball out of grass?" if we are on a unit about balls. As part of understanding how balls work, the class would get grass and try and make a ball through tactile experiences in the real world.

Open Door Preschool was established in 1971 at Grace United Methodist Church in Old East Dallas. The school initially educated a room full of four-year old, Spanish speaking children. The Hispanic community, which had begun to populate the East Dallas area, treasured the preschool and its services. Soon, there was a waiting list for entry.
